Koggs Adventures (Koggani Adventures LTD) is a tours and travel company offering carefully curated travel experiences, guided adventures, and customized holiday packages across East Africa's most iconic destinations. From the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro to the endless plains of the Serengeti, the white-sand beaches of Zanzibar, and the world-famous Maasai Mara in Kenya, Koggs Adventures connects international travelers with authentic, once-in-a-lifetime African experiences. Their services span tour booking, visa assistance, car rentals, SIM card provision, and personalized travel guidance — positioning them as a full-service travel partner for anyone exploring Tanzania and Kenya.
Project Summary
Objective: Design and build a modern, conversion-optimized travel booking website that showcases Koggs Adventures' safari packages, enables online tour browsing and booking, and positions the brand as a trusted East African travel partner for international tourists — complete with multi-currency support, destination guides, and a seamless user experience.
Challenges
- No existing website to represent the brand digitally or capture online bookings
- Needed a complete tour management system with search, filter, and booking capabilities
- Had to present complex safari itineraries (multi-day packages with varying durations, locations, and pricing) in a clean, digestible format
- Needed to showcase two countries and multiple destinations (Tanzania: Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, Zanzibar, Ngorongoro; Kenya: Amboseli, Maasai Mara, Diani) with rich visual content
- Required integration of social proof through traveler reviews and testimonials to build trust with first-time visitors
- The travel industry is highly competitive — the site needed strong visual design, fast loading, and SEO optimization to stand out
My Role & Responsibilities
As the lead web developer, I was responsible for:
- Full website design and development using WordPress
- Setting up the tour management system with search, filtering, grid/list layouts, and map views
- Configuring WooCommerce for the online booking cart and checkout flow
- Building destination pages for Tanzania (Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, Zanzibar, Ngorongoro) and Kenya (Amboseli, Maasai Mara, Diani)
- Creating detailed tour listing and detail pages with pricing, duration, ratings, and video content
- Designing the homepage with hero sections, trending activities, popular tours, testimonials, and a blog section
- Setting up the About Us, Contact, FAQ, and Blog pages
